A writing teacher and friend of mine once told me that getting things out on paper — or onto a blank screen — is a way to reflect, process, and round the events of this little life with the hope of finding some sense of self-awareness and soulful salvation.I haven’t really written in a blog for about a year now, mostly because I haven’t had much time or impetus to write. It’s always a fearful task, staring at a blank screen, not knowing what words to choose to describe feelings and thoughts.But part of my Dale project is to record my “spiritual” journey through India in words and photos, so I suppose this is a new beginning for me — a chance to test assumptions, to come to a better understanding of myself, to grow — perhaps — defiant of fear. I hope to find some interesting things to say. Or at the very least to have some record of this 20-year old life striving after nebulous notions of peace on the road rare-traveled.
